The Problem

A Tooth That Has to Come Out, and a Visit You're Dreading

The tooth is cracked, decayed past saving, infected, or impacted. The dentist said it has to come out.

So you've been Googling. Reading reviews. Lining up the questions you don't want to ask out loud. Will it hurt? How long does recovery take? What does it cost?

The hardest part of an extraction is rarely the procedure. It's the build-up.

The Agitation

Putting It Off Doesn't Make It Easier

Every week you wait, the situation gets harder, not easier. A cracked tooth gets jaggier. A decayed tooth gets more painful. An infected tooth puts the bone around it at risk.

The longer you carry the worry, the bigger the worry gets. Patients regularly tell us afterward that they'd been stalling for months over a procedure that took less than half an hour.

You've already decided you need it done. The remaining question is who you trust to do it.

The Solution

A Practice That Leads With Comfort

Our team's own description, word for word: "We numb the area completely before beginning, and many patients are surprised by how quick and painless the process is. You may feel some pressure, but not pain."

For patients who want more than just numb, we offer two sedation options. Nitrous oxide keeps you awake and relaxed. Oral sedation is a pill you take before your appointment that helps you feel deeply relaxed throughout the procedure.

25 years of practice on Iowa Street. Simple, surgical, wisdom, emergency. The volume and consistency show up in how the work feels.

What We Extract

Every Type of Extraction, Handled In-House

  • Simple extractions

For visible teeth that can be loosened and removed with local anesthesia. The most common type. Usually quick.

  • Surgical extractions

For teeth that are broken below the gum line, fully or partially impacted, or otherwise more complex. Performed with sedation if you choose it.

  • Wisdom teeth removal

All four, partial removal, impacted, or erupted. Planned with digital imaging so we know exactly what we are working with before we start.

  • Emergency extractions

For severe pain, advanced infection, or a tooth too damaged to save. Same-day appointments available, call early.

  • Pre-orthodontic extractions

To create space when crowding is part of an orthodontic plan.

Day Of

What the Visit Actually Looks Like

    1

    Check in

Paperwork is short. We'll have already filed your insurance pre-authorization before your appointment.

    2

    Complete numbing

Local anesthesia for simple cases. For surgical cases or by patient preference, we add nitrous oxide or oral sedation.

    3

    The extraction itself

The tooth is gently loosened and removed using specialized instruments. Most simple extractions take under 30 minutes from numb to done.

    4

    Aftercare and recovery

Gauze controls any bleeding. You receive written aftercare instructions and a follow-up plan. Most simple extractions heal in one to two weeks.

What Comes Next

Don't Leave the Gap Open

The space left by a missing tooth isn't neutral. Adjacent teeth drift. The jawbone resorbs. Your bite shifts.

Whenever an extraction is on the table, we plan the replacement at the same time. Your options: a dental implant (the most permanent replacement, Dr. Yasin's specialty), a bridge (uses neighbouring teeth as anchors), or a partial denture (the most affordable option).

You don't have to decide today. But you should know your options before you walk out.

Patient Stories

What our patients say

Jayhawk Dental undid two decades of dental anxiety in one hour. The team was extremely kind, informative, and reassuring through the entire process. It seemed like they were tailoring care to my needs rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. The Doctor was warm and personable and gave me several options for care. Seriously, it feels like you all pulled off a miracle in making me feel comfortable.

Maddie Pieropan

Everyone's great there. The team keeps my teeth in great shape and gets me in and out fast but still keeping my dental health the best it can be.
